Nomad Emergency

In May 2008, following Ponticelli's arson fires (in Naples' suburbs), the Minister of the Interior, Mr Maroni, allocated €1 million to deal with "this extremely critical situation caused by the presence of numerous illegally staying third-country nationals and Travellers", as he himse lf put it.

The developments of this story are reported by the cameras of the Rai Educational programme presented by Valeria Coiante: from the census of the Roma - in Milan, Rome and Naples settlements - to the controversy surrounding the advisability of fingerprinting minors.
