Ashraf Saber. A Nubian from Rome
Ashraf Saber, born to an Egyptian father and an Italian mother (although she was born in Egypt), was the first Italian athlete to win at the World Junior Championships. Additionally, he is probably also the first Black athlete to force Italy to address the issue of interracial relationships in sports.
Ashraf's history is told in Mauro Valeri's book "Black Italians".
