The Nicolosi District
This report is set in the Agro Pontino, in southern Lazio, where in 1932 Littoria, nowadays called Latina, was founded. Italian immigrants - mainly from Veneto, Friuli, and Emilia - were encouraged to settle there to grow the city's population. 443 council flats were built to accommodate them and so sprang up the Nicolosi District, named after the architect who had planned it.
